Kayaking in Arisaig

Earlier this summer, my dad and I took our first daddy-daughter weekend trip up to Arisaig for a spot of kayaking! After a scenic road trip on Friday night, we were unfortunate to encounter unsuitable kayaking-weather on Saturday. Paddling adventures put on hold, we instead explored the breathtaking Silver Sands of Morar and had a small hill climb, before finding a camping spot near the water in hope of better weather on Sunday.

Hiking Up Ben Lomond

One of my training walks before I headed to Spain for Los Tres Picos, was heading up Ben Lomond, one of the most well-known and well-trekked Munros, situated in the West of Scotland. I tackled Ben Lomond with my Auntie Tricia, who was my companion for Los Tres Picos, and my Uncle Martin. This was, however, my second attempt at this mountain.

Walking the Lairig Ghru

This summer, my old school friends and I figured we'd mix it up a little and instead of our usual barbecue, night out or pizza nights, we'd take an exciting trip and walk the Lairig Ghru.

Los Tres Picos: Charity Trek in Spain

A few weeks ago, I finally embarked on the trip I have been jabbering on about all year: an absolutely incredible 3 day trek up 3 of Spain's highest mountains! All in aid of the EY Foundation, the trek was both mentally and physically testing, but equally rewarding and all for such a great cause.

An Afternoon at the Wormit Boating Club Open Day

Every summer, the Wormit Boat Club host their annual Open Day - which, when we were younger, always marks the start of summer! So this year I headed back to my hometown with one of my oldest friends, Sophie, for a reminiscent afternoon!

Caving in the Forest of Dean

When I learned I was going caving for one of the activities on the Forest of Dean #DeanWyeBloggers weekend, I was excited to be doing something new yet, wasn't entirely sure what to expect. What the heck IS caving?!

Turns out caving is quite literally clambering around in, and exploring, natural age-old caves 200m below the surface. These caves are all over the Forest of Dean, hidden beneath the forest floor. Though they are naturally occurring, they were used for years as mining caves as they hold iron ore. We were taken on a tour of these beautiful wonders by Jonathan at Clearwell Caves.

Munros Mayar and Driesh (My Guest Post Link)

This week's post is actually a guest post that I have written for a fantastic blog, The Adventures of Kate. Like myself, Kate loves the outdoors and writes an awesome blog about it, and I was delighted when she let me write a guest post for Mountain Monday theme.

I have written about my Sunday adventure with my dad, when we summited my second and third munros: Mayar and Driesh. It was a windy yet wonderful day, with plenty of scenery, and you can read about it and admire the photos here :)

Mountain Biking in the Forest of Dean

I was absolutely delighted when I found out I was getting to take part in Mountain Biking as one of my activity during the Forest of #DeanWyeBloggers weekend. I used to be inseparable from my mountain bike as a kid, staying out all day until sun down with my pals. I never managed to have a proper mountain biking experience, so I was incredibly hopeful on this trip that we wouldn't get a watered-down experience and instead we would be thrown in the deep end - I was not disappointed.

Forest of Dean: #DeanWyeBloggers Weekend

A couple of weekends ago, I had the absolute pleasure of being invited down to the Forest of Dean for a taster weekend of everything they have to offer, before their hugely successful Forest Activity Festival on Sunday 23rd of April

You Know You're an Adventurer If...

Here are nine life-truths that you will relate to if you are an adventurer like myself:

1) Every time you see a tree or a cliff face, you wonder if it's climbable.

Tree-top course at Centre Parcs, Whinfell Forest. I never got to try, but I'm definitely going back to do it!

Gear Review: The North Face Womens Sangro Waterproof Jacket

I thought this week I would do a wee review of my ultimate favourite jacket: The North Face Womens Sangro Waterproof Jacket.

I actually bought this jacket new-with-tags on eBay for £49.00 back in 2015. RRP as of today is £110, so I got a complete bargain! The North Face are currently offering it on sale at £77.00 too!

Edinburgh Training Walk for Los Tres Picos

In the run up to Los Tres Picos this June, I will be taking part in numerous training walks in order to get my fitness up to scratch for the main event! Some of these will be personal, others are arranged walks with fellow EY Foundation fundraisers.

A Wander Around Cramond

This past weekend I decided to head down to Cramond to test out my beautiful new camera, but importantly I wanted to get used to my walking boots once again, before training commences for the EY Foundation trek in Spain!
